Las Vegas, NV

Show Dates: March 20, 2015 – April 14, 2015

The Rocket Man is back. Legendary singer – songwriter Elton John returns to the stage at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum with “The Million Dollar Piano.”

The show is called “The Million Dollar Piano” because Elton performs on a Yamaha piano engineered with about 68 LED video screens.

Elton is known for shows that feature dramatic imagery, whether it’s the outrageous costumes of his early career performances or the enormous neon props and stunning David LaChapelle videos in his previous Caesars show – the critically-acclaimed “The Red Piano.”

While the visual spectacle of Elton’s shows is always entertaining, it is the phenomenal music and Elton’s amazing performances that make his show a must-see when in Vegas.

Elton is accompanied by his band: Davey Johnstone on guitar, Matt Bissonette on bass, John Mahon on percussion, Nigel Olsson on drums and Kim Bullard on keyboards. Percussionist Ray Cooper is scheduled to make a special appearance.

With more than five decades of composing hit songs and performing, Elton continues to be one of the most successful acts on the road today. He is one of the top-selling solo artists of all time, with 35 gold and 25 platinum albums, 29 consecutive Top 40 hits and has sold more than 250-million records worldwide. Elton holds the record for the biggest selling single of all time, “Candle in the Wind,” which sold 37-million copies. Since his career began in 1969, he has played almost 3,000 concerts worldwide. Elton is a five-time Grammy award-winner.

In 1996, Elton was named Commander of the Order of the British Empire and in 1998, the Queen of England knighted him Sir Elton John in recognition of both his contributions to music and his longstanding charitable work. The following year he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. In 2004, Elton received the Kennedy Center Honor for his lifetime contributions to American culture and excellence through the performing arts.

In September 2013, Elton released “The Diving Board,” his first solo album in seven years.

In addition to his work as a recording artist, Elton has had incredible success as a composer. He wrote the music for the smash-hit stage production of “Billy Elliot.” The show originally opened in London and garnered him a top-five hit in the United Kingdom with the song “Electricity.” “Billy Elliot” was nominated for a record nine Olivier Awards, winning Best Musical among others.

He also received an Academy Award for “The Lion King” and Tony awards for both “The Lion King” and “Aida.” Elton served as the executive producer for the successful animated feature “Gnomeo & Juliet,” which opened in February 2011.

Jersey Boys

Paris Las Vegas

Venue: Le Theatre des Arts

3655 S. Las Vegas Blvd.

Las Vegas, NV

Show Dates: Ongoing

Show Times: Tue 6:30pm & 9:30pm; Sat 5pm & 8:15pm; Sun, Wed – Fri 7pm

Age Restriction: 5

Show Length: 130 minutes

Starting at $59.55

Fame, fortune, drama, tragedy — Jersey Boys, the Tony-Award winning Broadway musical, has all the makings of an E! True Hollywood Story — along with one amazing soundtrack to accompany it.

The show is a musical documentary that tells the often turbulent, rags-to-riches story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.

It follows the lives of the four blue-collar boys from the tough streets of Newark, New Jersey, as they became one of the biggest pop music sensations of all time. The story is told from the viewpoints of all four band members: Tommy DeVito, who founded the group and kept them together until they finally hit it big with “Sherry” in 1962; Frankie Valli, the best-known member of the group with his trademark falsetto voice; Bob Gaudio, who penned the group’s biggest hits; and Nick Massi. Some people will also be surprised to learn that it includes the story of actor Joe Pesci, the friend who introduced DeVito to Gaudio and helped launch the group’s rise to success.

Jersey Boys often plays like a soap opera — except that this story is real. As Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons rose to fame, they sometimes led messy lives that included jail time, mob ties, money problems, divorce and personal tragedy. The story isn’t always pretty and definitely includes the occasional profanity to match.

There is nothing overly technical or elaborate about the sets or effects in Jersey Boys — it is the story that is compelling and the incredible music that is the true star of this show.

For two years, The Four Seasons sang background for other acts while working on their own group. Finally, in 1962, Gaudio came up with a song that showcased Valli’s remarkable falsetto. When the band sang “Sherry” on American Bandstand, they soon found themselves with a No. 1 record and the fame that came along with it.

“Big Girls Don’t Cry and “Walk Like A Man” followed and both hit No. 1 in 1963.

When it was all said and done, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons had an astounding 71 chart hits, including eight No. 1 songs.

No matter what your age, you will recognize the songs and won’t be able to stop yourself from tapping your feet and singing along.

Jersey Boys offers two hours of hits like “December, 1963 (Oh What A Night),” “My Eyes Adored You,” “Let’s Hang On (To What We’ve Got),” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” “Working My Way Back to You” and “Who Loves You.”

The music of Jersey Boys will definitely bring back memories for those who were around during The Four Seasons’ heyday and will introduce the musical legacy and story of the group to new generations who weren’t.
